Light truck or heavy truck: how to tell which you need?
Start with the vehicle. For bolts on light trucks, farm machinery and steel structures, the 1000 N·m of the XLY-1000 is enough; for wheel nuts on heavy trucks and buses and large bolts on construction machinery, use the XLY-2000.
As a guide from the bolt ranges of impact wrenches in the same class, the XLY-1000 corresponds to M12-M24 and the XLY-2000 to M20-M30; the vehicle or equipment manual has the final word.
What torque do heavy truck wheel nuts need?
The M22×1.5 wheel nuts common on heavy trucks and buses are usually tightened to 550-680 N·m (a reference range; follow the vehicle manual). Rusty or long-untouched nuts may take more than twice that to remove, so we suggest the XLY-2000 for heavy truck wheel nuts and the XLY-1000 for light trucks.
When fitting a wheel, run the nuts on with the impact wrench, then tighten them to the torque in the vehicle manual with a torque wrench, so they are not over-tightened.

Which anvil and sockets go together?
The XLY-1000 has a 1/2" anvil and the XLY-2000 a 3/4" anvil. An impact socket must match the anvil and then the nut size; use sockets made for impact wrenches, because ordinary hand sockets are not suited to them. The XLY-1000 comes with one socket.
How to pair batteries?
The XLY-1000 comes with two 6.0 Ah batteries and the XLY-2000 with two 8.0 Ah: one in use, one on the charger. Fleets and roadside crews who are out all day should keep one more battery in rotation. Usable capacity falls in winter cold, so keep spare batteries indoors.
How should auto parts shops and fleets buy?
Auto parts shops supplying truck tyre shops, fleets and construction machinery workshops: start with one carton of XLY-2000, 5 per carton; if farm machinery and light truck customers dominate, the XLY-1000 comes 6 per carton.
