Two test prototypes and one rule: never overstate
How the second generation of LEIYU was made
In 2024 the factory reached 300,000 tools a year. In September the sales team said it was time for LEIYU to go beyond China. At the same time the company set the plan for the second generation, and the design team got to work.
Two test prototypes: a larger motor
In 2025 two test prototypes were built for the second generation, one after the other. The first changed the housing; the sales team tried it and concluded that the improvement was not enough. The design team did not freeze the design, and the second prototype changed the inside, starting with the motor: a larger brushless motor, with upgraded magnets, bearings, control board, cells and gears.
This version also set a rule: motor ratings are never overstated. What the rating plate says is what you get.
Launch, then a year on sale
After more tests and upgrades, the second generation of LEIYU went on sale in 2025. It was not exported right away: it spent a full year on the Chinese market first. In June 2026, based on real feedback from stores and users, the company decided to take the second generation to Central Asia; in August, Qingdao Chenrui Mingwo Electronic Technology Co., Ltd. was set up to handle export to Central Asia.
From the first generation in 2020 to the second in 2025, LEIYU has kept one 21 V battery; from its opening in 2018 to today, the factory has stayed in Nantong, Jiangsu.
