How to display and demonstrate cordless tools in a shop

Lay out shelves by battery system, set up a demo table, and the three things staff should say.

Lay out shelves by battery system

Lay out cordless tools by "which tools one battery runs" rather than scattering them around the shop by category. LEIYU 21 V tools share one battery (with the Dayi A3-type mount common in China), so wrenches, drills, rotary hammers, grinders and chainsaws can go on one wall with the four battery sizes and the charger in the middle; customers see at a glance that the batteries on that wall are interchangeable.

Keep one unboxed sample of each kind on the shelf and the rest in cartons below or in the stockroom. Fit a battery to the sample so a customer can pick it up, try the trigger and watch it run. Leave a case open with its two batteries, charger and accessories laid out as packed, so the customer knows exactly what they will get.

Let the customer pick it up

Keep a demo table in the shop: a thick board, a few bolts of different sizes and a sheet of metal, so customers can drill a hole, drive a bolt with the wrench and cut a line with the metal shears. For the wrench, have a tightened bolt ready so customers can remove it themselves, hear the impacts and feel the reaction in the tool.

Next to the table, keep a charged 6.0 Ah battery and a 2.0 Ah battery so customers can compare the weight: 2.0 Ah is 0.389 kg, 6.0 Ah is 0.87 kg.

Put the batteries where they are seen most

Put the four battery sizes and the charger in the most visible spot in the middle of the shelf, with capacity, weight and suitable tools written next to each battery. When customers buy a second tool they first check whether their battery fits, and the sign saves them asking staff.

Do not display batteries empty. Recharge display batteries every two to three months.

What to write on price tags and signs

Three things on the price tag are enough: model, key figure and battery configuration. XLY-600, 600 N·m, two 6.0 Ah batteries and a charger. The model number of a wrench is its maximum torque, so the tag needs no further explanation. For models with a rotation video, add the product page's QR code so customers can look at every angle on their phone.

LEIYU prepares product copy in Russian and Kazakh for each model, ready to print on price tags and in-store posters.

The three sentences staff should know

Staff do not need to memorise specifications; three sentences are enough. First: every tool on this shelf uses the same battery. Second: a wrench's model number is its torque, 600 for car tyres and 2000 for truck tyres. Third: every tool comes with two batteries and a charger and works straight out of the box. Any detail a customer asks after that is on the product page and the spec sheet.

Posters, price tag templates and display advice are prepared for the size of the shop and the models you lead with; see the sales support section on the dealers page.
