- A 100 mm grinder suits car repair, steel structures, weld grinding, rust removal and thin stock: it is light and easy to control.
- Both LEIYU grinders are 100 mm: the XLY-100 runs at 7500 rpm with a cutting depth of 0 to 25 mm; the other XLY-101 specifications and photos are still to be uploaded.
- Thick stock and deep cuts need a 125 mm grinder, which LEIYU does not make at the moment; pipes and timber go to the XLY-01-18 reciprocating saw, sheet material to the XLY-150 circular saw.
- The shop should stock its own 100 mm cutting and grinding discs: local hardware shops mostly carry 125 mm discs, and not every shop has 100 mm.
- Both come with two 6.0 Ah batteries that fit every LEIYU 21 V tool.
What can a 100 mm grinder do?
A grinder mostly cuts and grinds: bolts and thin steel sheet, weld seams, rust, tiles. A 100 mm disc is small, so the tool is light, the XLY-100 weighs 1.273 kg bare, is comfortable to hold with both hands on the side handle and reaches into wheel arches, cabinets and between scaffolding. Car workshops, steel erectors and maintenance crews use it most, and it is the grinder in all four kits from SET-2 to SET-4.
When do you need 125 mm?
The disc diameter sets how deep one pass cuts. The XLY-100 cuts 0 to 25 mm deep, enough for profiles, thin sheet and bolts; thicker stock and deep slots need a 125 mm or larger grinder. LEIYU has no 125 mm model at the moment, and we do not advise forcing a 100 mm grinder through such work.
For pipes, demolition and timber the XLY-01-18 reciprocating saw is the better tool, supplied with 4 types of blade; for sheet material use the XLY-150 circular saw, 56 mm maximum depth with a bevel adjustable from 0 to 45°.
XLY-100 specifications and accessories
| Model | Grinding wheel diameter | No-load speed | Battery configuration | Bare-tool weight | Units per carton |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| XLY-100 | 100 mm | 7500 rpm | 2 × 6.0 Ah | 1.273 kg | 6 units/carton |
| XLY-101 | 100 mm | To be confirmed | 2 × 6.0 Ah | - | 6 units/carton |
The XLY-100 comes with a guard, a side handle and a wrench; to change the disc, hold the spindle lock and loosen the nut with the supplied wrench. The XLY-101 is also a 21 V brushless grinder with two 6.0 Ah batteries, 6 per carton; its specifications and photos are still to be uploaded and can be requested with your enquiry.
Which discs to stock?
A 100 mm grinder takes only 100 mm discs; a 125 mm disc does not fit. Local hardware shops mostly carry 125 mm discs and not every shop has 100 mm, so a shop selling this grinder should stock its own discs: metal cutting discs, stainless cutting discs, grinding discs and wire brushes, so customers take them with the tool. Check the bore size against the actual tool.
How to pair batteries?
A grinder works under heavy load, so 6.0 Ah is the main capacity and both models come with two. Customers who cut continuously should keep a spare to rotate. The batteries fit every LEIYU 21 V tool, so the shop's wrenches, drills and hammers share them.
How should a shop order?
A shop with many car repair and steel structure customers starts with one carton of the XLY-100, 6 per carton. To sell wrenches and drills alongside, the XLY-SET-2 pairs the XLY-1000 wrench with the XLY-100 grinder, the XLY-SET-3 adds the XLY-21-13 drill, and both SET-4 kits add the XLY-05-24 hammer; the tools share batteries and one charger in a single case.
